I have been anticipating these popular Revlon Lip Butters for a little while now! First released in it's manufacturing country, America, then in UK and finally in Australia, they have been features of blogs for a couple of months. The Lip Butter range is gorgeously coloured & deliciously named lip colours. They come in twenty shades and are a combination of lip balm and lip stick. It contains moisturizing mango, coconut and shea butter, making it smooth and creamy, just like butter! The colours range from sheer to more opaque.
They hit Australian shores in mid-April, costing AU$21.95 RRP. It was little expensive for me, so I had to take a cheaper alternative, buying a pre-chosen set from ebay, each lipstick costing around AU$6.00. My friend, Kathy, told me about a buy-one-get-one-free sale at one of the pharmacies so I added two more to my collection. I swatched the first five I received but haven't got around to trying out the last two!
Top: (Left to right) Creamsicle (pastel), Peach Parfait (glitter), Pink Truffle, Fig Jam, Sugar Plum, Strawberry Shortcake (pastel) & Sugar Frosting (sheer).
Bottom: Swatches for (left to right) Pink Truffle, Peach Parfait, Fig Jam, Strawberry Shortcake & Sugar Plum.
I am ultra pleased with the texture and how soft the contents is! The cute packaging is a plus. It's no surprise that lately, the western brands have been working on their packaging, aiming to make it more appealing to women. L'Oreal Paris had also launched their version (I suppose) of a similar balm cross lipstick product: Nutrishine by Colour Riche. It also has cute colourful casing and a spotlight on moisturising shea butter and Royal Jelly benefits.
I hope I can try one of L'Oreal's Nutrishine lipsticks soon!
